The short answer

Cinopsys shows where to stream, rent or buy a title in your region. You can pick your own streaming services and get an alert when a watchlist title arrives, plus alerts for streaming availability and digital releases. It is a tracking and discovery app and does not stream or download content.

Finding a film is one problem; finding where to actually watch it is another. Cinopsys shows where a title is available in your region, lets you choose the services you use, and tells you when something on your watchlist arrives.

In short
  • See where to stream, rent or buy a title in your region.
  • Pick your own streaming services, so the answers reflect what you have.
  • Get an alert when a watchlist title arrives, plus alerts for streaming availability and digital releases.
  • Cinopsys is a tracking and discovery app: it does not stream or download content.

Stream, rent or buy, in your region

Availability depends on where you live. A series that streams on one service in one country may be on another, or nowhere, somewhere else. Cinopsys uses your region, so the options on a title's page are the ones relevant to you. The choices are grouped the way you think about them: stream if a service you use carries it, rent if you want it for a night, buy if you want to keep it.

Availability also changes. Titles leave services, move between them, and arrive on digital storefronts weeks after a cinema run. Treat what you see as a strong starting point rather than a guarantee, and check before you plan a whole evening around it.

Choose the services you use

Most people do not have every streaming service. You can pick your own, so the answer to “where can I watch this?” leans towards what you can open right now. This matters most when you are scrolling a long watchlist: knowing which titles are already on a service you have turns a vague list into a short list of things you can start tonight.

An alert when a watchlist title arrives

Not everything on your watchlist is available yet. Cinopsys can alert you when a watchlist title arrives, so you do not have to keep checking. Alongside that, there are alerts for streaming availability and digital releases, timed the way you choose. They sit with the other alerts for new episodes and upcoming movies described in the release calendar guide.

The pattern works well for films you hear about long before you can see them. Add the title to your watchlist, choose when you want to be told, and let the alert do the remembering. When it arrives on a service you picked, or becomes available to rent or buy, you hear about it.

A simple routine

  1. Set your region and choose your streaming services once.
  2. Add titles to your watchlist as you hear about them, whether from a trailer, a friend or one of the ready-made watchlists.
  3. Open a title to see whether you can stream it now, or rent or buy it.
  4. If it is not available yet, leave it on the watchlist and wait for the alert.
  5. When the alert arrives, watch it and mark it as watched.

Works with your library

Cinopsys works standalone, or with Trakt, Simkl, MDBList and WeTrakr, and your watch history and watchlist stay in step both ways. So the watchlist you build on a service's website or another device is the same one you check here. Setup for each service is in the guides for Trakt, Simkl, MDBList and WeTrakr.

What it does not do

Cinopsys does not stream or download anything. It tells you where a title is available and keeps track of what you have watched; the watching happens in the apps and stores that carry the content. That separation is deliberate: your tracker stays the same whichever services you use.

Movie and TV data and artwork come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
