WeTrakr keeps your watch history, watchlist, ratings and lists in your own account. Connecting it to Cinopsys makes WeTrakr your backend and gives you a fast Android app to use it through, with sync running in both directions.
- Install Cinopsys → Settings → Sync & Backup → select WeTrakr → sign in.
- Sync is two-way, not a one-time import. History, watchlist, ratings, notes and lists stay matched.
- Works with a WeTrakr account. Your plan decides the limits on WeTrakr's side.
Connect WeTrakr in 5 steps
-
Install Cinopsys
Get Cinopsys from Google Play and open it. Everything works before you connect anything, so you can look around first.
-
Open Sync & Backup in Settings
Go to Settings → Sync & Backup. Under “Where your library lives,” you'll see five choices: This device only, Trakt, Simkl, MDBList and WeTrakr.
-
Select WeTrakr
Choose WeTrakr. Cinopsys tells you what happens next: you sign in to WeTrakr in your browser, then the app restarts and reloads your library. Nothing is deleted, and your current data stays safe. Tap Sign in & switch to continue.
-
Sign in and authorize
Your browser opens WeTrakr's own sign-in page, so your password is only ever typed on WeTrakr, never into the app. Log in and approve access for Cinopsys. You are returned to the app automatically.
-
Let the first sync run
Cinopsys pulls in your WeTrakr history, watchlist, ratings, notes and lists. After that first pass, changes flow both ways, and Discover starts drawing on WeTrakr too.
What syncs both ways
- Watch history, including rewatches and the date you watched.
- Watchlist for movies and shows.
- Ratings for movies, shows, seasons and episodes.
- Notes and hidden titles.
- Custom lists, including their order, plus check-ins.
Whatever your WeTrakr plan allows is what you get. WeTrakr has a free Basic plan and a VIP plan that differ in things like the daily request quota and how many lists you can keep; WeTrakr is in beta and says VIP is free for now. If a change runs into a plan limit, Cinopsys says so and keeps it on your device.
One home at a time
Cinopsys keeps your library in one place, not several at once. You pick WeTrakr, Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or this device, and that choice is where your watch history, lists and the picks in Discover come from. You can change it later, and you can keep a Google Drive backup running alongside whichever you choose.
You're set
That's WeTrakr sync done. Prefer a different service? You can change where your library lives at any time, or run Cinopsys on the device alone and back up to Google Drive instead.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid WeTrakr plan?
No. Cinopsys works with a WeTrakr account, and WeTrakr says VIP is free during its beta. Your plan decides your limits on WeTrakr's side, such as the daily request quota and the number of lists.
Is the WeTrakr sync two-way?
Yes. Add something in Cinopsys and it reaches WeTrakr; change it on WeTrakr and it comes back. It is sync, not a one-time import.
Can I use WeTrakr and Trakt at the same time?
Not at once. Your library lives in one place, so you pick one of WeTrakr, Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or the device itself. You can switch later, and a Google Drive backup can run alongside whichever you pick.
Does every Cinopsys feature work with WeTrakr?
Most do, but a few depend on the service you pick. With WeTrakr there is no collection, favourites or smart lists, and no dedicated anime tab, for example. Cinopsys hides or dims what the active service can't do.
