Install Cinopsys
Grab Cinopsys free from the Google Play Store and open it. You can explore everything first without signing in to anything.

Open Sync & Backup in Settings
Head to Settings → Sync & Backup. Under "Where your library lives," you'll see three choices: This device only, Trakt and Simkl.

Select Trakt
Choose Trakt — it "syncs to your Trakt account, across all your devices." Cinopsys sends you to Trakt's official website to sign in, so your password is only ever entered on Trakt, never in the app.

Sign in and authorize
Log in to Trakt and approve access for Cinopsys. You'll be returned to the app automatically once it's done.

Let the first sync run
Cinopsys pulls in your watch history, ratings, watchlist and custom lists. Give it a moment on a large library. From then on, anything you change in either place stays in sync.
What syncs both ways
Once connected, Cinopsys keeps these matched in both directions — change them here or on Trakt and they stay consistent:
- Watch history and play counts
- Ratings
- Your watchlist and collection
- Custom personal lists

Frequently asked questions
Do I need Trakt VIP to use Cinopsys?
No. Cinopsys works fully with a free Trakt account, and Cinopsys itself is 100% free with no ads. Trakt VIP only affects limits on Trakt's side, such as the size of lists.
Is connecting Trakt required?
No. Cinopsys works completely standalone with no account. Connect Trakt only if you want cloud sync across devices and apps.
Will connecting overwrite my Trakt data?
No. The sync is two-way and additive — your existing Trakt history and lists are imported, and changes you make in either place are merged rather than wiped.
Can I use both Trakt and Simkl?
Cinopsys supports both, but your library lives in one place at a time. Under Settings → Sync & Backup you choose This device only, Trakt, or Simkl, and you can switch whenever you like. A Google Drive backup can stack on top of whichever you choose.
