If your history is on Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or WeTrakr, switching is one sign-in: connect that account in Cinopsys and your watch history and watchlist stay in step both ways. If it lives somewhere else, such as TV Time, there is no direct bridge. Get it into one of those four services first, or start fresh and back up to Google Drive.
The thing that keeps most people on a tracker they've outgrown is the fear of losing their history. Good news: because Cinopsys speaks Trakt, Simkl, MDBList and WeTrakr, switching is usually just signing in, your data follows you.
Sync: if your history is on Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or WeTrakr, connecting that account pulls your history into Cinopsys (and your watch history and watchlist stay in step both ways). Backup: if it's anywhere else, you can start fresh and protect your new library with a Google Drive backup.
Coming from Trakt's app (or any Trakt client)
This is the easiest move of all. Apps like Trakt's own app, Showly and Cinexplore all store your data on Trakt, so there's nothing to export. Install Cinopsys, sign in with the same Trakt account, and your watch history and watchlist stay in step both ways, with ratings, check-ins, collection and custom lists supported. Carry on exactly where you left off, in a new Android app.
Coming from Simkl
Same idea. Connect your Simkl account in Cinopsys and its sync brings your movies, TV and anime across and keeps your watch history and watchlist in step. If you've been using Simkl mainly on the web or iOS, Cinopsys gives you a polished Android home for it, with widgets, stats and standalone backup on top.
Coming from TV Time, Moviebase or somewhere else
If you used Moviebase with Trakt sync, you're effectively a Trakt user, just connect Trakt to Cinopsys and you're done.
If you're on TV Time (which shut down on July 15, 2026 and never used Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or WeTrakr), there's no direct bridge. Cinopsys works through those four services, so your history needs to be in one of them first; each service documents how to bring a TV Time export across. Then sign in to that account in Cinopsys. Alternatively, start fresh in Cinopsys and rebuild only what matters; with a release calendar and discovery built in, it fills up fast.
Your first ten minutes in Cinopsys
- Install Cinopsys from Google Play.
- Pick how to start. Use it standalone (no account), or tap to connect Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or WeTrakr.
- Sign in and let sync run. Cinopsys pulls your history, watchlist, ratings and lists (collection where the service has it), give it a moment on a big library.
- Turn on Google Drive backup. Connect your Drive so your library is safe and restorable on any device.
- Make it yours. Add a home-screen widget, switch on episode notifications, and set a theme or gradient you like.
Make sure you never lose anything
Once you're set up, a Google Drive backup means your collection lives with you, not just on a service. Cinopsys is also designed to keep list items a service refuses, and, with Sync deletions switched off, titles it removes, useful if you ever bump into a connected service's list caps. No. If your history is on Trakt, Simkl, MDBList or WeTrakr, connecting that account syncs it into Cinopsys.
